Licence terms
Plain English. This is the whole agreement. Version 1, September 2026.
MyGarage is sold as software you own and run yourself: on your own computer, in your own shop, with your own data. These terms exist to keep that true for everyone, and they are short on purpose.
1. What you get
- A perpetual licence to install and run MyGarage on one computer at a time, for one person, household, or business.
- Every release in the update series your key names (a 1.x key covers every 1.x release), at no further charge.
- Use by up to the number of people your key covers, the administrator included. The personal licence covers five. Deactivated accounts don't count. A shop that needs more seats buys a licence that grants more.
- The right to move the licence to a new computer, up to three times a year, by activating it there. Activation contacts mygaragehub.com once to record the computer, and after that MyGarage runs offline.
2. What you agree not to do
- Don't rent it out. You may not host MyGarage, or any part of it, as a service for people outside your own household or business. That includes selling, renting, or giving away accounts, seats, or access to your copy, whether or not money changes hands, and whether you call it a subscription, a membership, or something else.
- Don't sublicense, resell, lend, or transfer the licence, except that you may transfer it whole to one other person if you stop using it yourself and tell us so we can update the key's owner.
- Don't work around the licence key, the activation, or the seat limit, and don't help anyone else to.
- Don't remove or alter the copyright notices, and don't pass MyGarage off as your own work.
- Don't use it to operate machinery in a way the software tells you needs a person present. MyGarage is deliberately built so a human is in the loop for anything that moves. Keep it that way.
3. Your data
- Everything you put into MyGarage stays on your computer. We never see it, and the software never sends it anywhere unless you connect a cloud AI provider, in which case what you send them is between you and them under their terms.
- The one thing MyGarage sends us is the activation record: your licence key's identifier and a fingerprint of the computer it was activated on. That is what lets a key be moved and lets us refuse a second copy.
- Your backups are yours. Nothing in these terms limits copying your own database and files anywhere you like.
4. AI providers and other people's software
- MyGarage works with AI models you supply: your own accounts with cloud providers, or models running on your own hardware. We don't resell AI, we don't mark it up, and we don't guarantee any provider's availability, price, or output.
- What an AI model says is a suggestion. Torque specs, wiring, load ratings, and anything else that can hurt you or wreck the job need to be checked against the manual and your own judgement. MyGarage cites its sources so you can.
- Optional extensions that MyGarage can install for you (slicers, compilers, voice models, and the like) come from their own authors under their own licences.
5. The usual
- MyGarage is provided as is. We work hard to make it reliable, and we fix what breaks, but we don't promise it is free of defects or fit for any particular purpose, and we are not liable for damage arising from its use beyond what you paid for it. Where the law doesn't allow that limitation, it applies as far as the law allows.
- If you break section 2 the licence ends and you stop using the software. Nothing else ends it. We will never remotely disable a copy that is in compliance.
- We may publish revised terms for future versions. The terms that came with the version you bought keep applying to it.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA.
